When to register for GMAT exam?

It depends on where you're located. I live in NYC and there are many testing centers, and people told me to register about 4 weeks before my exam. They said I would be fine because I'm taking it in the spring instead of the fall when most people take it. I scheduled my exam last week (6 weeks out) and only had option between taking it at 8am and 4pm. I know there are other times in between those two, but I'm fine with taking it at 4pm.

The best part of scheduling the exam further out is that the action does something to you mentally. Your studying automatically becomes more focused knowing that you have the test date coming up. I kept telling myself that I wnated to take the exam on May 8th for about 2 weeks. Then once I paid the $250 and registered... it hit me! I say register....
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I am living in India(chennai)...As u said if i can register a date before itself,I can concentrate fully...
