Winship

Quoted from e-gmat.com

"Winship estimate that the three largest carriers - Delta, United, and American - each generate roughly $1 billion annually."

Should generate be plural or singular? The office answer is plural - generate. However, I learned from some other resources that "each" MUST follow singular. Can anyone chip-in?

Thanks!

Plural is right here.

Each of three comapnies completes the job. [ correct ]

Three comapnies each complete the job. [ correct ]

Rule : If there is some noun before 'each', then the verb will be taken from the noun.
