need advice on verbal

I just did my real GMAT last week and scored well below ANY practice exam I did (Manhattan, Kaplan, GMAC) :cry: . I know it was largely my nerves, but I need advice on a strategy for my next attempt.

I did relatively decent on my quant, but BOMBED my verbal. I've reviewed my answers of right/wrong answers, re-read Manhattan verbal books, and still don't feel i have a good grasp on how to attack these questions. I still don't feel like I see the 'patterns.'

Does somebody have any alternative advice on studying strategies for verbal?

I'm also debating whether I should get a private tutor, thoughts?

For improvement on CR you could try working some problems from the LSAT. These problems tend to be more difficult and often provide better practice.

Would you recommend reviewing the principles they cover in LSAT on how to approach CR problems as well?
