A car is traveling on a straight stretch of roadway, and the speed of the car is increasing at a constant rate <with respect to time"Š>. At time 0 seconds, the speed of the car is v0 meters per second; 10 seconds later, the front bumper of the car has traveled 125 meters and the speed of the car is v10 meters per second.

In the table, select values of v0 and v10 that are together consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.

v0 & v10 range of values given for both was (5, 18,20,36,72). Had to choose a combination of both from the given range.

Hi Aditiniyer,

You chose a wrong place to post an IR question. Anyways, here is the solution.

We know that the speed of the car has been increasing at a constant rate and the car has traveled 125 meters in 10 seconds. So, we deduce that 125/10 = 12.5 meters/sec is the average speed of the car for the speeds: V0 and V10.

Thus, (V0 + V10)/2 = 12.5

=> V0+V10 = 25.

Though we cannot get the unique values of V0 and V10, we can get the consistent values.

The only given values that make 25 are 5 and 20. Thus, V0 = 5 and V10 =20.
