OA later.
1)
The absolute value of z is greater than absolute y, but since the question is lx-zl, we have to know what the actual value is, not the absolute.

2) insuff, doesnt tell us anything about z or y.

Both together insuff because:

x=-2
y=3
z=4
|-2-4| < |-2-3|
or
x-2
y3
z-100
|-2-(-100)| > |-2-3|

Square d two parts..so dat mod sign goes off...
Is (x-z)^2 > (x-y)^2?
Is x^2-2xz+z^2 > x^2-2xy+y^2?
Is -2xz+z^2>y^2-2xy?
Is z^2-y^2>2xz-2xy?
Is (z+y)(z-y) > 2x(z-y)?

You can not solve this eqn by given two statements..IMO E.
