Hey guys - thanks in advance for the last minute help/advice!
Regarding the CSQ from an immediate supervisor.
I completed 4-years of active duty military service in the Summer of 2011 (well over a year ago). For the past year I've been training for a full-time position that will take through the start of business school. This new position will revert to part time once I start school.
The trouble is that during this training period most of my time was spent with instructors, not my supervisor. We were ranked at the end of that training cycle (which will play to my advantage), but my supervisor wouldn't be able to provide much depth. I decided months ago to ask an old supervisor to write on me since I worked for him for years.
So...my current supervisor gets my training reports, but aside from a comprehensive interview/hiring process he hasn't had very many opportunities to observe how I do in an operational environment. And my older supervisor is from 2011.
Recently I was told by a reputable source (GMAT tutor) that choosing the older recommender may be a bad idea with Tuck and that I should do whatever it takes to have an immediate supervisor complete the recommendation.
Anyone have advice? My other CSQ will be from an investor/mentor/business partner who is a Tuck alum. This other CSQ will be the better of the two no matter what since he's a large part of the reason why I'm so interested in Tuck.
