A tough one on DS

q. What is the median no of employees assigned for the project at company z?
(1) 25% of projects have 4 or more employees
(2) 35% of projects have 2 or fewer employees.

People please help on this one. This is a OG 12 prob, but i did not understand the explanation.

Hi,
From (1): 25 % have 4 or more employees. But we do not know about the distribution of the remaining 75%
Insufficient
From (2): 35 % have 2 or fewer employees. But we do not know about the distribution of the remaining 65%
Insufficient

From(1) and (2)
Lets say there are 100 projects
If we write the projects in the increasing order of employees we get 25 employees in {1,2}, 40 employees in {3} 35 employees in {4,5,6... } Median is the average of two middle most terms, i.e. avg of 50th and 51st terms = (3+3)/2 = 3
This holds for all possible values of the number of projects(of the form 20n), not just 100
Sufficient

Hence, answer C
