Say, m = 4 and n = 1 --> mn = 4 < 10
Say, m = -10 and n = -5 --> mn = 50 > 10
Not sufficient
Statement 2: 1 < m < 2 and n² = 25
Hence, n = ±5
For n = 5, 5 < mn < 10 --> mn < 10
For n = -5, -5 > mn > -10 --> mn < 10
Sufficient
The correct answer is B.
