At a monthly meeting, 2/5 of the attendees were males and 7/8 of the male attendees arrived on time. If 9/10 of the female attendees arrived on time, what fraction of the attendees at the monthly meeting did NOT arrive on time?

(A) 11/100
(B) 3/25
(C) 7/50
(D) 3/20
(E) 4/25

Let total = 100.
Males = (2/5)*100 = 40, females = 100-40 = 60.
Males on time = (7/8)*40 = 35.
Females on time = (9/10)*60 = 54.
Thus, 35+54 = 89 attendees were on time, 100-89 = 11 attendees were not on time.
Fraction not on time = 11/100.

The correct answer is A.
