First simplify the question.beater wrote:If rs is not equal to zero, is 1/r + 1/s = 4?
1. r + s = 4rs
2. r = s
1/r + 1/s = 4
(s+r)/sr = 4
r+s = 4rs
So the question is asking is R + S = 4RS ???
1) Gives you exactly that.
2) try plugging in couple of values. r and s can be anything and does not have to equal 4 so it's not sufficient.
