Hi All,

Does anyone have (or come across) a list of formulae/shortcuts which can be applied when answering questions in the Math section of the GMAT.

Covering areas such as:
Arithmetic progression -
We know that in an A.P, 'l' the last term is given by l = a + (n - 1) * d, where 'a' is the first term, 'n' is the number of terms of the series and 'd' is the common difference.
This can be used when answering the following question:
How many 3 digit positive integers exist that when divided by 7 leave a remainder of 5?

Was wondering whether someone had a list of these type of things, for all the areas of the GMAT Math ?

Someone wrote a post with a pretty thorough list in the past, I'd do some searching. You can also get an overview of formulas from the flashcards--I hope you've downloaded them!

yes we all need it .. we all need a list of formulas and tricks ...for maths ... and if anyone can post for verbal also .. i mean all do and donts

This is good, and serves as an excellent overview of the topics which you should be looking to master. Covers the scope of the GMAT Math section pretty well.

However, I was just confused about the following 3:

22. Commutative property of multiplcation
23. Distributive property of multiplication
24. Associative property of multiplication

Are items 23 and 24 referring to distributive (e.g. a(b+c) = ab +ac) and associative law (a x b x c = c x b x a) ?

And what is 22. Commutative property of multiplication ???
