Inequality help GMAT prep pack 1

by Neilsheth2 » Thu Nov 12, 2015 7:56 pm
how could it be C since if we plug in numbers lets say:-

a=-5 , b=5..Satisfying a<b
x=2 ,y=3 satisfying x<y...We get a YES answer for a^x<b^y

While when we plug
a=-7 , b=-5..Satisfying a<b
x=2 ,y=3 satisfying x<y...We get a NO answer for a^x<b^y

Need some help.

Thanks in advance!

The values in red violate the constraint that a, b, x and y are POSITIVE integers.

Ok I just realised that I am not allowed to use negative numbers!

Anyways thank you Mitch!
