coordinate geometry

by smohsin » Tue Nov 18, 2008 6:46 am
Hi,

Can anyone please help me with the following question? Please explain with a diagram if possible.

Q: there are two points on the XY plane which are located on the same coordinate. These points are (-a,b) and (-b,a). Is the point (x,y) located in the same coordinate?

1. xy>0
2. ax>0

Unfortunately, I do not have the OA? It was a problem I found on a list of problems compiled by a previous test taker. So, the source is unknown to me. Please help.

Thanks,
going big!
