speed problem/easy but tricky

During a U.S. domestic flight, did a certain Boeing 757 aircraft ever exceed the economical cruising speed of 850 km per hour?

(1) The total flight time was 3 hours.

(2) The aircraft flew a distance of 2,463 kilometers during the flight.

Should be (E)

Combining (1) and (2) gives us the average speed, but the question does not ask for the "average" speed :)
