the scale drawing of a certain room is a rectangle 5 inches by 6 inches . the drawing has the scale 1/4 inch to 1 foot, which of the following will give the actual no. of square feet of the room


answer is480

The scale is 1/4 inch to 1 foot means 1/4 inch in the scale drawing is equivalent to 1 foot in the actual. Hence, 1 inch in the drawing is equivalent to 4 foot in the actual.

Therefore, the actual dimension of the room is 4*5 foot by 4*6 foot.

Hence, actual no. of square feet of the room = 4*5*4*6 = 480
