Perilious Plight....SOS >>

by Ldreamer » Wed Jun 13, 2007 7:20 am
Have to write the test 3 days later...but still my current level is 720-730 (as per GMATPrep)....dont wanna settle for anything less than 750...have been preparing rigourously for arnd 2 mnths now...My pain area is verbal...but performance in CR, SC, RC all is erratic (whimsical I would prefer!)...bcoz scaled score lies in the range 35-38 with 10+ mistakes...sometimes too many mistakes in SC, sometimes too many in CR and so in RC....so all seems to be the weak area...Finished with all study material...twice/thrice...doing OG for sixth time...its seems helpful though...1000 SC/CR doesn't seem helpful enuf...bcoz without explanation it feels terrible.
Have given 20+ paper test/10+ CAT's....

Solicitng any advice/tips etc...

Hey,

First off I would say try to relax. Secondly the difference between a 720/730 and a 750 is approximately the diff between 96% and 98%-I cant imagine that in the eyes of an admissions committee there is virtually no diffrence between the two and it will come down to who you are as a person, your essays and what you can bring to the table from an experience stand point.

To offer some advice to try to help you hit the 750 mark, I would say(if you havent already) rweork the problems you are missing without the answers and determine what the crux of your issues are, and then drill those specific problems i.e. do you have problems on inference or assumptions question in CR or do weaken strengthen caus eyou trouble.

But since you are only 3 days away and you have clearly put in some serious time studying with all those practice tests and having redone the OG, you have to trust in yourself that your preparation was sufficient and stay calm, cool and collected. Make sure you rest and are thinking clearly dont drive yourself nuts cramming, at this point that can only detract from your hard work.

Obviously easier said than done. Good luck
