I have a question, how to tackle sentence correction questions wherein correction tests more of the general uses rather than the formal rules that all we know( e.g. pronoun uses, parallelism, modifier, etc). Such kind of sentence correction really create a lot of problem for me in terms of both time and understanding.
e.g.
It seemed that hardly any vote was cast on the Senate or House floor without some calculation as to how it might affect the midterm election.
A. without some calculation as to how
B. without there is some calculation as to how
C. without that there is some calculation as to how
D. without some calculation as how
E. without some calculation to how
please, tell your strategy to solve such correction issue. thanks
