Let the studying begin!

by daniely73 » Tue Jun 15, 2010 9:44 am
Hi GMAT community,

I'm SO glad I found this site. I just downloaded the flashcards and received my study materials yesterday. I purchased the OG 12th ed, the GMAT Verbal/Quant supplements, Manhatten GMAT review series (8 books), and the GMAT Math as a supplement. Also found a potential tutor to work with 1:1. The $1500 for a review course was a bit much.

I've put the GMAT/MBA journey off because I was nervous as hell, which I hear is normal. But, after doing more research and reading different blogs and experiences, it's given me a sense of confidence. For that, I am grateful.

Just curious...has anyone taken the Manhatten review courses - Live? There's a part of me that wants to take the class instruction. At the same time, I don't think it might be all that necessary - given I have the proper materials. Thoughts?

I'm aiming to take the exam early/mid September, so I should have enough time to prep. Just wondering if there's anyone out in the San Francisco area that's reading this because I could surely use a study partner for this!

Best of luck to all.

Daniel

Welcome to the Beat The GMAT community, Daniel! It's nice to have you here.

I think that you're going to find a lot of awesome people to support you in your journey. It seems like you're going down the self study route--I highly encourage you to take a look at these study plans: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/how-to-g ... n-the-gmat

Also, there are a lot of Bay Area people in this community (including myself, San Mateo). On the right-hand side of this page you'll see a black widget called Beat The GMAT MeetUps. Click on that and join a Bay Area study group, or even create your own. You'll make friends fast here, both online and in person.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions as you progress through your MBA admissions!

All the best,

Eric
