Its difficult to narrow down the answer choices except by elimination.
In my opinion, the author concludes (last para) that the debate would most likely continue and the best approach would be to leave the understanding and interpretation to respective parties / groups. This has hints of a non-judgmental tone / approach
A - It is not mentioned that the implications will be of great importance.
D - This is an extension of the conclusion and not directly implied.
E - The author does not suggest that a particular group needs to change and adapt.
This leaves us with option B and C. While B is possibly true, C is a more moderate approach and hence in line with the authors tone.
