2,000
3,200
4,100
4,800
4,900
I think the answer is
C.
here is my explanation.
Let us say that B has x boxes and each box has y books.
Then A will have 1.6x boxes and each box will have 0.4y books each box.
So total books distributed will be xy+1.6x*0.4y=1.64xy.
So the answer should be a mulitiple of 1.64xy. Now we need to look at the answer choices. Start with the middle answer C.
1.64xy=4100...Multiply both sides by 100
164xy=410000....divide both sides by 41
4xy=10,000.....Divide both sides by 4
xy=2500.....Got it.
This is the right answer. If you check any other answer choice it will not give you integer if you divide that answer choice by 1.64.
I was more confident about C because 1.64 is a multiple of 41( if you divide 1.64 by small number 4 it will give you the hint).
I hope that helps.
