new information which increase belief in an assumption is a strengthener.
new information which increase the belief in the conclusion is a strengthener.
Is there information which increases the belief in the conclusion but dose not increase the belief in an assumption? DOSE THIS KIND OF STRENGTHENER EXIST?
I research some CR strengthening questions in og and see that there is no that kind of strengthener
so,theoretically, a strengthener must increase the belief in the an assumption though we sometimes dose not realize that assumption while we realize the strengthener of that assumption. in some cases we realize both an assumption and the information increasing belief in that assumption. In other cases, we only realize the strengthener but not realize the assumption.
why I discuss that ?
prethinking an assumption before reading answer choices for assumption, strengthen and weaken is good for many reasonS. but after prethinking an assumption we go to answer choices and here, at this step, we do not think about an assumption any more. at this step we find the choice which increase the belief in the conclusion because it is possible that realizing the strengthener is easier than realizing the assumption.
is my thinking correct?
