Private Tutoring in NYC

by 710girl » Sun Oct 24, 2010 4:55 pm
I've gotten a 710 TWICE on the GMAT and I've decided that self-studying is not the answer to getting a better score. I'm prepared to pay any amount for a tutor. Instinctually I wanted to go with Manhattangmat because I had used their materials to study and I thought they were great and challenging. However, they are backed up for weeks and I'm hoping to take the GMAT in 31 days from when I took it yesterday. I want to focus more on math overall as well as sentence correction.

Do you know of any good tutors in NYC? I am planning on looking into Veritas Prep and Kaplan. Any other companies? Any recommendations for particular tutors in those companies? Any recommendations for tutors outside of those companies?

umm.. 710 is good...

I honestly dont understand why people feel the need to retake after scoring above 700. Above that, a 50 point increase means basically nothing. You should concentrate on your apps...

I completely agree with odannyboi - its ridiculous to take the exam again after scoring a 710.

What is the purpose of re-taking the exam?

In my opinion, you should spend your money wisely. Now that you have a good GMAT score. Why don't you hire a good admission consultant rather than a private tutor and make a compelling application?
