The total cost of water for one year in Community Z of 120,000 homes is $75,000. If the cost were to increase to $80,000 for the community, by approximately what percent would the average cost of water increase for each household in Community Z ?

IMO C

avg cost old=75/120=5/8

abg cost new =80/120=2/3

%=[[2/3-5/8]/(5/8)]*100=20/3=6.6=approx 7

the increase in total cost = 5000 $
% increase = 5000/75000*100 = 1/15*100 =6.67%

since this is distributed among same 120,000 families
% increase per family will also be 6.67%
