To make a long distance call from a certain pay phone, you must deposit $1.75 for the first three minutes, and fifteen cents for each additional minute thereafter. What is the maximum number of minutes you can use the phone, if you deposit $5.00 worth of change into the phone?
A. 18
B. 21
C. 24
D. 25
E. 33

3 mins - $1.75
1 min thereon - $0.15

1.75 + x(0.15) = 5 ==> x(0.15) = 3.25 ==> x = 21 mins

So, totally we need 21mins + 3mins = 24mins
