Functions and graphs

by winnerhere » Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:40 am
Hi guys,

A small doubt in functions and graphs

If I want to reflect a function y = f(x), on Y axis, y = f(-x) is the reflection

What if I want to reflect a graph over y = 1

For example:

If I want to reflect y= mod x over y axis the output graph will be the same

but what if I want to reflect y = mod x over y = 1

Thanks,
Sai

Hello Sai,

I guess nobody answered your question (till now) because (I guess) nobody understands where/why do you need this... my experience on the GMAT (a bit more than a decade) tells me that you are trying to solve:

(a) a non-GMAT problem, and that means people here (especially the experts) will probably not take their time to try to help you;

OR

(b) a GMAT problem, but in a (very) "hard" (or very uncommon, at least) way...

If (b) is the case, would you mind putting the question itself that motivated your post? In that case, if nobody comes (but I guess they will), I will do my best to try to help you, ok?

Regards,
Fabio.
