Hi,

Let me start off by saying that I am a new member to this forum, and have found the last two hours of browsing this site very helpful.

However, by my inability most likely, I haven't been able to find a study guide that suits my needs, so any suggestions would be helpful.

My situation: I have about a month of free time to study before I plan/want to take the GMAT. So I can commit to this like a full time job.

My first practice test results are as follows (Kaplan): 660/800 Math=42 Verbal=40
Weak points in Math are Geometry and Data Sufficiency
Weak point in verbal is Reading Comp.

With books like OG 11, Manhattan SC, Princeton, and all the suggested practice tests and flash cards available, what should I do?

Thinking of starting with OG 11 moving to MGMAT's and taking practice tests afterward to focus on still troubling areas... But again any and all suggestions would help, and sorry if this post is very similar to one before.

Thank you for your help ahead of time!

First of all a 660 on your first test and that too a Kaplan test is a fantastic score. Second of all your thinking on the right lines, you should start with the OG and understand what GMAT is all about and get a feel of the types of questions and concepts tested on GMAT. Once you are done with the OG move on too other books like MGMAT, Kaplan, PR, Veritas etc.

About your weak areas, for quant just study what is given in OG and other prep books, the geometry concepts explained in these books are more than enough for the questions tested on GMAT. DS is all about practice and concentration, you will get better at GMAT as you practice more of it.

RC again is about concentration and the ability to retain a lot of information. All prep books companies (MGMAT, PR, Kaplan etc.) explain different methods, in their book, to tackle a RC, just see which method suits you the best. Also since you have time you can also make up your own method to tackle the different type of RC's. Again practice helps a lot, you can get much better at RC's by practicing them on a daily basis.

Best of luck and let us know how the prep is going.

Cheers.
