Help\Guidance needed-- Urgent

by skrishnakarthik » Tue Sep 24, 2013 5:10 am
Hi,

I have recently taken GMAT prep practice test and scored a meager 590(Q-48, V-24). This score is all the more alarming because 2 months earlier Prep score was 610!! :!:  This forced me to reschedule my examination.

Verbal is clearly my weak area. I have referred to Manhattan guides(SC and RC), powerscore for CR. I have solved all the problems of OG13 and Kaplan. Clearly I have been making a mistake which I am not able to find out and need to fix it soon.(1 month remaining for my exam)

Please let me know how to analyse my weakness and improve in my Verbal score..

Thanks in advance

Yes - reviewing the questions you got wrong on each of these tests is the best way to identify the gaps in your preparation. Your Verbal scores seem to be around the 35 score mark, which is around 75 percentage. But your Quant scores are in the early 40s, which is a much less impressive percentage of 50. So, your first step must be to gauge which of these is your strength - Quant or Verbal?
We hear a lot of advice about working on your weaknesses - but playing to your strengths is an excellent strategy! So, once you discover the section that is your forte, try to maximize your score there by identifying and bridging all gaps there. This will give you maximum returns.
