Need help- 20 day PLAN

by dipzzz » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:18 pm
Hi,
I have been preparing for GMAT for a month. But I haven't been able to score 700+ in any of the practice tests.
Tests given- GMAT PREP I & II, MGMAT 1,2,3. Lowest-620(GMAT PREP I), Highest-700(MGMAT3)
V- 33-41 (RC<CR<SC)
Q- 44(in all tests...consistency !!!)
I have read Manhattan Strategy guides, Powerscore CR, OG 12.

Just 20 days left before exam and target score 700+...so is there a strategy to help me out ??
Or should I postpone the exam date...:(

Pls advise

A consistent score of 44 in Quant is a very strong point. IMO, you can expect a bit more in the real GMAT. But still, as you have some time to improve further, I suggest to go through challenge Q's, 700-800 level Q's from most prominent GMAT prep sites/material.
You have enough scope and time to get Q (49-51) and V(37-45) totalling to a 720-760 score.
All the very best

Hi, I also got the same 620 score on GMATPrep 1 today, after a 650 last week on MGMAT cat 1. I am feeling a little dejected now, whether I can even reach a 700 or not. I have exactly 20 days left, and need to take a couple of more CATs and revise.

Your Quant is consistently good. I know Powerscore is good, but I am having trouble even with such a good book. What is your strategy for CR?

Hi,
I gave another GMAT prep today... Score 680 Q-44 V-39

Quant-44 again....its not moving at all...
As suggested, I'll focus on 700-800 level questions...hope it moves towards a better score :D

@hifunda: When I first read Powerscore CR, I couldn't get much help from the book. So I practised CR questions directly. Gradually I could identify CR patterns and now the strategies in Powerscore CR also make sense to me. Try if this works for you...

By saying u did CR questions directly, u mean from the OG? Makes some sense, I will try it out.

Good score, now you can aim to increase even a little bit on both Quant and Verbal and that should take you above a 700. All the best!
