I applied to HBS rd1 and didn't get an interview . I frantically asked around and I've come to the conclusion that its most likely not going to happen for those that haven't gotten an interview yet.

Hmm, just out of curiosity, how did you come to the conclusion that you didnt get in? Dont they say that interviews are offered until Jan? I was just asking because I wanted to see if a significant number of people got interviews already.

The HBS website has a blog from the Admissions director stating that most of the Rd1 invites have gone out. That is probably where maissa got that impression. She did say they will be inviting more though, so don't lose hope!

It seems that Stanford's are trickling out, and didn't flood the world in one day like HBS'. I've heard of some people getting an invite to interview.

I got an invite at HBS, but like I said I still think it's anyone's game.

I'm sure you'll get at least an interview at HBS with a 740 GMAT. What was your undergrad GPA and what school did you go to? Do they have any reason NOT to interview you?

from what I heard, they were communicated by e-mail.

i received interviews to both. they come by email.

Each year lots of applicants with GMATs less than 700 get invited to interviews. HBS is one of those schools which doesn't emphasize the GMAT that much (they didn't even require the test from 1985-1997).

Last year, HBS still sent out interview invites up until R1 decision date. Good luck everyone.

I have been offered an interview to HBS and scored less than a 700 on the GMAT (680, 42, 40). I have also already interviewed at Wharton/Lauder. The HBS interview is an open application interviewer never mentioned anything about my GMAT score. With that being said, I have had great grades in an extensive amount of math and statistics courses in undergrad and graduate school which may have offset my sub-par quant score. For some reason my quant knowledge did not translate well to the GMAT.

I have not yet heard from Stanford. Does anyone know if a majority of the Stanford invites have already been sent? Stanford is my third choice of three schools but it never hurts to have as many interviews as possible to improve the chances of getting in somewhere.

I was extremely excited to get invites to HBS and Wharton/Lauder, however, an interview invite does not necessarily mean that and acceptance is imminent. Good luck to all!
