I pick B as well. Since we are talking about the study that took place in the past, we need to use past tense in the remaining part of the sentence. Between B, C and D, I pick B because C is wordy and D changes the meaning.

I will go with B.
Rule out A and E - "observes" doesn't make sense
C - performed by his own children ( wordy)
D - observed behaviors - Did only behaviors helped him for his studies?
B - the behavioral reprtories helped him for his studies. Sounds the right answer.
Thanks,
Viju

"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

The meaning of the sentence suggestes that studies may be 1920's but observation can be in present tense. IMO Aviju9162 wrote:I will go with B.
