Alan's regular hourly wage is 1.5 times Barney's regular hourly wage, but Barney gets paid at twice his regular wage for any hours he works on Saturday. Both men work an integer number of hours on any given day. If Alan and Barney each worked for the same total non-zero number of hours last week, and earned the same total in wages, which of the following must be true?

I. Alan worked fewer hours Monday through Friday than did Barney.
II. Barney worked at least one hour on Saturday.
III. Barney made more money on Saturday than did Alan.

A)I only

B)II only

C)I and II only

D)I and III only

E)II and III only

OA: B....

how are we supposed to do this question in less than 2.5 mins :(...

I dunno but it wasnt that tough u see. The one thing i was 100% sure of was the fact that since both of them have worked for same number of hours and Alan is getting paid more, thus meaning that Barney has to work on saturday, Just to cover up for the defecit in pay in the other days. He covers up because on a saturday will get 1.5 times what Barney gets usually but Barney will get twice of the same.

Now when the question says must be true, it means that u need to just try and refute others.

Now he might have worked more hours than Barney on monday thorugh Friday but Barney could cover it all up on a saturday (as i mentioned before) I gone

III If both of them worked the same hours this gets refuted. (again, as i mentioned before)

Hope this Helps! :)

i think answer should be E. As to cover the lesser pay B receives during Monday - Friday can only be covered when B earns more A on Saturday
