Hi,
I am a non-native English speaker. I am good at speaking but I am not very confident writing. I will often get stuck searching for proper phrases and clauses to express my ideas in writing. I would like to read some books with rich English usage to get over this weakness. Request your suggestions on few very good books to read. I don't have any preferences, I can read any book from Fiction to philosophy, provided it has got very good language .

For AWA I think you should come up with several templates to use for your essays that'll show good style and grammar and try not to stress over it too much.

"The issue of X is one that many..." I used a template I found online for each the argument and issue portions and it let me speed through both essays.

Sashikanth -

Wow! What a posting. I hope that others reply with some recommendations as well.

I assume that you are not taking the test for several months or you would not be thinking of this type of deep preparation. I mean, one cannot do practice problems all day right?

(I do have to agree with Wharton750 that if you do not have the time to improve your overall knowledge of English phrasing that a template with some stock phrases can work very well.)

As to books, tt really depends on what you are interested in. It is true that there is bad writing everywhere but there is good writing as well.

I would personally recommend some Bill Bryson if you like humor. He has written mostly about travel: His writing about Europe is very funny, so is his book about Australia, and more than one on the U.S. If you want something deep he has "A Short History of Nearly Everything."

Maybe you can let us know of things you are interested in - I am sure that there are well-written books on nearly every subject.
