Career Advice

Hi,

I am in some sort of dilemma right now. I am working in a financial research firm for the past few years. I have a Gmat score 690, which i think if subordinated with good essays can take me to good colleges. However, i think my present job is a little too taxing and does not give me enough time to prepare for essays and interviews. Therefore, i want to join a school for some time- till the time my interviews and calls dont convert. However, I am not able to decide if this decision will have a negative impact on my interview or resume. Can someone help me with the decision. I need to inform my officials by tomorrow evening.!

Hello,

I hope it's not too late for my answer to be helpful. Generally it's best to apply to MBA programs while being fully employed. However, full-time employment is not always the best option for a person at a given time, nor is it always an option at all. The adcom will look at your application holistically, and so how much of a weakness this would be compared to strengths you may have is something I don't know, and it will vary person to person. It's a matter of finding the balance, it's not a black and white answer.

Best regards,
