I've just finished my first AWA. Appreciate your kind help to review, rate and comments so that I can improve my skill for the comming test. Thanks a lot!
Argument:
"Consumers need to be protected from companies that make deceptive claims in their advertising. However, companies should always be allowed to make truthful claims, even if that claims could be misunderstood by some consumers."
Answer:
The given argument argues about effect of deceptive advertising by companies on consumers. Deceptive advertising affects consumers buying pattern thereby provoking consumers to go for bad quality of product. Harmful effects of these advertising on consumers can be studied by various scenarios.
Consumers needs to be protected from deceptive advertising. The Goverment should form some regulatory commissions which can enforce certain laws for companies to make any claims and to check validity of that claims.
Deceptive advertising and false claims can very much attract consumers. But after using that particular product consumer realizes that the claim is false and product is not up to the mark. Hence at the end its consumers that suffers. As we see many infact all the toothpaste advertising nowadays claims that they are No. 1 in the market. But we need to understand the fact that all companies can not be at same position. So introduction of strict rules and regulations needs to be introduced for companies before making any such claims.
Another way of reducing the affect of deceptive advertising is, Consumers should not trust the claims/advertisements blindly. Consumers should look at the market analysis/serveys to check the autheticity and validity of that advertised product. Consumers can also refer to various information sources available on internet, can consult with experts before buying any unreliable products.
However some companies which are really making truthful claims and there products fullfill there claims should be awarded. This will help consumers to recognize trustworthy brands. Companies making truthful claims should also be backed up by regulatory commissions to prove there authenticity. And these compnies should make advertisement very clearly so that consumers should not misunderstood there claims. This will make companies to think twice before making any baseless cliam. And Consumers will be protected from deceptive advertising and false products.
