Hi folks. Didn't find exactly what I wanted via search, so first post.....
I took a mba.com practice test, scored a 540, then started reviewing and practicing. Mostly stuck with the PR Crack the GMAT text, and the tips/tricks and practice bins were helpful. I spent 2 hrs/night for about 2-3 weeks on prep. Took another mba.com practice test, and scored a 680. 43Q, 40V.
Took my first real GMAT last week, and scored 640, but was dragged down by an uncharacteristically low quant score. I was disappointed. My goal is minimum 700.
I will retake soon, but I'm pondering a few options wrt test prep courses. Bear in mind I've already seen the PR book, and don't think I need the discipline a course provides. My options are:
1) PR classroom. This will finish soon enough for me to potentially take the GMAT twice more before my app deadline.
2) Veritas classroom. Will only have time to fit in one GMAT attempt, due to the course starting/ending later than the PR option.
3) MGMAT online. Probably only time to retake once after the course ends.
I'm grappling with a few questions:
a) Will the PR course material be redundant if I already used the book?
b) Is classroom really better than online for me? And which might be better suited? I may just need more practice and tips to make up 60+ points.
c) Is a prep course even recommended if I'm not starting at ground zero?
Sorry for the epic first post. But any insight/advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
