Hey dude,
If you want to get a job in Canada post-MBA it makes a LOT more sense for you to apply to Canadian programs... which are easier to get into anyhow.

Hi Jon

I'm concerned because of the Canadian MBA programs rankings, which are not even in top 30.
I think my profile is good enough to hit top 10 US schools.
Do you think it's still worth to go for Canadian schools?

In that case to to US schools. And THEN go to Canada. I mean if you can get into HBS you go to HBS. PERIOD. I mean you will carry that name with you your whole life. Canada makes sense if you can only get into Tier 2 schools (or if you really really want only to be in Canada.

Hi Jon,
I am facing slightly relevant situation, except that my profile isn't that strong to get into US Top 10 MBA. Being a South Asian and non-native English speaker, what are my prospects for Top 30 US MBA and post-MBA employment? My brief profile: 4 years experience in wholesale banking in Pakistan, 3.2 GPA (MBA from top business school in Pakistan), Bachelors in Economics, registered for GMAT (Target 680-700).
On the flipside, how would you rate my profile for Tier 1 Canadian Schools? This should enhance my employment prospects in Canada. I'd really appreciate your comments. Cheers
