I just scored 560 :/… my test in only one month!! I was only studying using the OG 11, but decided to take the crack-gmat to see how i would score.

I got a 710 though on the GMAT Prep so I was wondering why this huge difference?
Is the scoring done differently? Are questions harder?
If anyone took test, would appreciate your insight.
Thanks.

fleurdelisse,

I'm not familiar with crack-gmat tests, but I do know that GMATPrep is the most reliable test and that the scoring indeed is different.

Your ability is probably closer to 700 than to 560.

Fear not; Ted is certainly right. GMATPrep uses a very similar algorithm to the actual GMAT (it's from GMAC!), and while my experience over the years has been that the difficulty level is ever-so-slightly lower than the real deal, particularly on math, I've found the scoring to be right on.

I assume you're saving the second GMATPrep test for closer to test day, so just disregard those results and keep plugging away. Several of the big test prep companies have free tests available -- so I'd recommend taking those, using them mainly for practice and less as benchmarks, and then take GMATPrep 2 a week or two before your exam to see where you really stand. Good luck!
