Test strategies

Hi everyone,

A little over amonth to go until my date with destiny.

I have been preparing for around a month.

Scores to date

Gmat prep 1 - before any study

690 Q 44 V 40 - was a little raw and had to rush the last 6 questions

Gmat Prep 1 attempt to

720 Q49 v40 - Interestingly i did not encounter vary many repeat questions and the few that were had been correct on the first attempt.

Therefore i think this is a realistic score.

Manhattan Gmat Cat #1

700 Q 44 V 41

My background is as an engineer and subsequently the maths problems are not particularly difficult. However, I am finding that my maths scores do not reflect my actual ability. If given adequate time i can answer all the problems with 100% accuracy. Here in lies the problem, I find in the tests that i am being rushed and i am not sure how to deal with the problem.
Also I felt the Manhattan gmat quant problems, although the concepts being tested were of no greater difficulty, were considerably wordier and took longer to comprehend than all my practice tests and problems to date.
All my practice problems to date are done on a time limit, well at least attempted to be done.
Essentially my pitfall is timing. If I get stuck on the wording of a question I generally stick around until I know what the question Is asking and then quickly solve the problem.
Does anyone have any test strategies that could help me?
Also, when I review the problems, of the questions I got wrong I believe 95% should have been right and the fact that they were wrong was due to a careless error.
Any ideas how I can improve my accuracy? The sc portion is another story.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris
