How important is integrated reasoning?

by ksc1940 » Sun Oct 14, 2012 1:14 pm
I bombed my integrated practice questions, getting only 6 or 7 right out of 12. Some of them were dumb mistakes, but i'm having a hard time with time management and thus making a lot of careless errors. If the rest of my test goes well, will a low integrated score really hurt me?

This year it would be even difficult for B-schools to take in integrated reasoning scores into consideration because many applicants who have given their GMAT in last 2 years will not have this score. Perhaps from next year you may see some emphasis on this score. Having said so integrated reasoning will have as much important as AWA scores if not more because it measures your professional abilities on one more dimension. It measures how well you integrate data to solve complex problems. A crucial attribute which future managers must have to take important business decisions fairly quickly.

I would suggest a smart preparation to improve your score. Have a look at all type of IR questions. Practice one type first, master it and move onto next. And you will see your accuracy and timings improve.
