Mental Preparation

by target_mba2010 » Fri Aug 28, 2009 9:57 pm
Hi,
I am appearing for GMAT on 15th sept 09. I have been preparing basically from OG 12 and 11, MGMAT guides and GMAT prep.I m working hard to improve on my weak areas.I still lack confidence on scoring 650+ (to say the least) and already thinking of reappearing. I cant help to avoid this thought. Its irritating!! :(
Can anyone provide any inputs on what mental strategy I should follow to boost my confidence and give my best shot in the first attempt.

Thanks in advance.

I was scared about my test as well. Everyone is! It's important to know that you're not the only one feeling stressed before the big day - everyone does.

It's all about positive thinking: go there saying to yourself: "I'm going to give it 110%, but it's not the end of the world if I don't get my target score from the first try. Most people go for 2 tries at least!"

I'm usually happy when I'm about to start an important test, since I know I'll be done with everything (prep, stress) in just a few hours. I think this attitude might help you as well!

Thanks for those words.I know its natural to feel that way for anyone under the sun, its just that some moral boost like this makes one feel better.

As i say to to myself n others feeling the same..THINK POSITIVE,thats the key!
