PhD in Finance profile evaluation

by citiusargentum » Thu Sep 22, 2011 4:57 pm
Just got done with my GMAT today, didn't go as expected 670 (Q46 V36) might retake to cross 700.

Undergrad GPA : 3.2 in civil engineering from India.

Masters GPA : 3.36 in Engineering management from USC.
I have taken some basic economics, accounting and financial analysis courses in my masters.

I ve been working for the last year and a half in IT consulting.

I am working on a good essay.

Potential weakness : No research experience, the recommendation letters might not be great

Target schools : Syracuse, UMass Amherst, SUNY Buffalo, UT Austin.

Please feel free to critique.

Get good recommendations,, its very important.

Your profile looks nice but then how are you planning to make up for the work experience. It is advisable to gain some experience in the research. This is one of the important areas that the universities lookout for. You will need to have exceptional academic track sheet to put forward.
