Hi
I am taking the test in next 10 days.
Even though i have really tried hard m not able to improvise or even stabilize my Verbal score.
I am pathetic at SC. Have gone thru Manhattan SC and e-gmat material, though not able to improve.
Need some quick inputs so as to maximize my Verbal score.
Have taken 6 mocks till date
Manhattan CAT-1 - 610
Cat-2 - 670
CAT-3 - 660
CAT-4- 650
GMAT prep1- 650
GMAT prep 2- 660

target score - 700+

Plzz help...!!!!

Verbal tends to be much harder to improve than quant; I wouldn't expect any sort of quantum leap in 10 days. That said, the best thing you could probably do at this point is go through a heap of official SC questions and annotate them as thoroughly as you can:

(1) Highlight all the seemingly meaningful differences between answer choices (e.g. "eat" vs "eats"; "like" vs "such as"; "not only ... but also" vs "not only ... but"). This will help you recognize the choices offered by each answer.

(2) Note WHY each incorrect choice is incorrect, being sure to use GMAC's reasoning, as provided in their official explanations: SC can be somewhat arbitrary, so we want the arbiter's justification for each decision. Further note which differences were actually meaningful.

(2) Try to find patterns in the questions so that you can easily identify meaningful differences and correct choices in future questions.

Good luck with the aforementioned strategy.

What sources/strategy helped you the most for Quant?

I just reviewed the basic concepts and Manhattan Number properties guide was an excellent read....helped me to gain the extra edge required.
Once done with the theory and concepts....practice...practice...and practice...under timed conditions helped improve my score.
I hope it helps.. :)
