Classes to take as Pre-Req?

by RedSoxFan » Thu May 27, 2010 10:31 am
So I've decided to postpone the application process for a year, and instead of entering an MBA program for Fall '11 I will enter for Fall '12. I am going to use that extra year to take some online classes to better boost my candidacy. I was a Political Science major at undergrad.

I remember reading somewhere the four classes one would want to take in this situation are intro classes (ie 101?) to:

accounting, finance, statistics, economics.

Can someone please confirm this?

Thanks again!

Confirmed! - I've heard from an AdCom member at a top 10 school - Financial Accounting and/or Statistics

Follow up question:

Will top 50 programs accept online classes from a University of Phoenix? Is it a "yes" across the board, or doe each institution differ?

Thank you

From what I've heard... it's not looked highly upon. Whether they accept it, I'm not sure - I don't think they really have a choice to accept it or not, but maybe they don't have to consider it.
