Hi GMAT experts,
I have started my studies with "The 60-Day GMAT Study Guide" 3 days ago and I am in the 4th day right now. My GMAT schedule is 60 days from now (December 18th). I have some concerns about my performance so far and I need to have some experts advise me upon the validity of my concerns (I am not sure that it's likely sagacious to have these concerns because I am a newbie in the GMAT world).
First off, today I'd taken the 1st GMATPrep practice test, according to the guide, and I've found myself so weak in tackling question. As a case in point, one of my strength points is RC (that's because I had taken iBT on April and the reading part of iBT is kind of identical to RC of GMAT). But today I've found passages so complex that I even had problem in analyzing some of them by reading for the first time! However, RC section of "OG13 Diagnostic Test", that I'd taken yesterday, was more handle-able for me. Has "Diagnostic Test" the same level of complexity as GMATPreps?
Second, since it was my first experience of facing GMAT questions under time constraints, today I'd found myself having serious problems in pacing and time management within the test. The problem mainly revealed itself within the quantitative section. Although I'd hit the pause button several times, I was forced to skip some questions that were solvable if there was more time available. I am aware that pausing will result in inaccurate scores, but I was under a considerable amount of pressure and couldn't help myself stop hitting that stimulus button!
Third, all SC questions today seemed like aliens to me and couldn't solve any of them at all! Generally I have problem with SCs. Is it possible for me to master them within The 60-Day GMAT Study Guide or should I spare more time dedicated to this question type? I believe that SCs today hurt my verbal scores significantly (12 out of 18 of my wrong answers was SCs).
Forth, today I'd mistaken several quantitative questions that after review came out to be easy questions and it worried me a bit that the same story will happen trough this journey and consequently on the real exam.
Here is my performance so far to provide you with an insight:
GMATPrep Exam 1; Q:43, V:19, Total:520
OG13 Diagnostic Test; PS: 9 (out of 24), DS: 11 (out of 24), RC: 13 (out of 17), CR: 3 (out of 17), SC: 2 (out of 18)
