Dear Bob1414,

I guess it depends on your risk tolerance--if you feel you are ready and think your work experience can mitigate your GMAT, then apply and see what happens. If you don't get in this year, you can always re-apply in the early rounds for the next entry point and retake your GMAT. Military experience is usually a positive (thank you for your service, by the way), so that should help your case. While your GPA in the first half of your degree is not good, you did finish strong so that will also help. Based on what you provided, I think the GMAT is probably the weak point in your profile, so you just need to determine if you think the rest of your application will be compelling enough for NYU to take a chance on you despite your below average score.
