Depressing!!! HELP!!

by sanmathi » Sat May 01, 2010 12:26 am
Hello everyone!!

I am new to this site and I just started my GMAT prep. Hoping to get 650 BUT I have not improved at all. I have been studying really hard for my GMAT which is scheduled on May 24th. No matter how much I study I feel stuck and my scores have not improved. I am very depressed about this. My range has not moved from 450 and I want to get 650 to get into good school. Planning to retake the GMAT in August. Do you think I will have enough time to apply for 2011 fall?

I use The Manhattan GMAT guides ( all 8 of them)
Took a Princeton Review course
12th edition OG
Quant & Verbal review books

Where am I going wrong? What should I do to get my desired score? Am I aiming to high? I study more then 5hrs a day!! Still no improvement :(

Thanks for all your help and support

Well you dont have much time so now you just focus on your weak area as you have not mentioned your score splitup... i am assuming its verbal (true for most ppl) start doing the analysis where u are making most mistakes suppose in SC what kinda Qs u are almost always getting wrong (is it the ones based on idiom or modifiers or tenses etc..) and focus on those suppose for idioms u can memorise the list given in MGMAT's guide by reading it daily at least once...read the explanations in OG and try to understand it completely.
Also if you have made ur mind of writing GMAT in august then why are u wasting attempt on 24 May instead replan the date somewhere in july and you will definetly get your dream score.
Best of luck!!
Regards,

Abhishek
