gernalisation needs 'that' so it comes down to D & E. In D, that seems to modifies little...So wrong. IMO E.

However little being uncountable should be used with singular

I would avoid any sentence with 'being' so that eliminates A and B.
I believe the correct usage would be support the generalization THAT Which would eliminate C.
For me, D was clumsy and E was the most conscise and understandable.
IMO E.

Between (D) and (E):
"significant differences" in (E) is clearly wrong... choose (D).
