GMAT Prep 1 and 2 different?!

by HeyArnold » Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:16 am
Within a week of each other I took GMAT Prep test 1 and scored a 730, and then took GMAT prep test 2 a week later and scored a 670!

My score on verbal was consistent, but quant was dramatically different. I felt like the questions were tougher with GMAT prep 2 and skewed more heavily towards DS that tested theoretical knowledge (i.e. ratio of boxes pat packed vs. robert, (1) linda packed 30% (2) Robert packed 10 more than robert)

Has anyone else noticed something like this?

thanks!

Hi HeyArnold,

The tests are of equal difficulty, although there will always be some variance in scores. When you do take the GMAT exam admissions teams will only focus on your highest score, which is why we often recommend people aim to take the test at least twice.
