Correct Usage of relative adverb "when"

by sungoal » Thu Oct 06, 2011 10:39 am
Hi,

Can anybody explain the correct usage of "when" as a relative adverb modifying time?

Why the usage of "when" in the below sentence is wrong:

it was not until almost 1950 when modern critics and biographers began to seriously consider the literary events of author's work.
