Alright, here is the story. I am now a little bit confused about my ability to solve problems. When I first took GMATPrep for my second round preparation, I scored 420 (My target is 500+). Then after a little bit of study/practise, I took MGMAT free CAT and score 570 (WOW...). I was really tempted by the fact that I could score 550+. Then I took MGMAT CAT 2 and scored 520 (still ok since 500+). Yesterday, which is only after a day since I took my MGMAT CAT 2, I score 460 on my GMATPrep CAT 1 and feeling very helpless at the moment. I would say, I did ok in quant I guess 25 correct with ~38%ile. But verbal was horrible with 18 incorrect and 19th percentile! I know I have been skipping the RC in order to give more time to CRs (with an avg of 3min I am able to correct 80% - most of the time), and I do not spend over 1.5min in SC with almost 80% accuracy. Really need help to improve my verbal accuracy level a little bit.

Can some one predit what would be my real test score? I scored 470 in veritas test, 450 in PR CAT.

Thanks

I'd never be so bold as to predict your real test score; some people crumble in a formal testing environment, and others rise to the challenge.

Having said that, I'd have to say that the GMATPrep practice tests are most likely the best at evaluating your skills. After all, these tests use official GMAT questions, and they use the official GMAT scoring algorithm. As such, they should be the most reliable predictors.

Cheers,
Brent

As a rule, CAT's from prep companies underestimate your score. They do that because they want to over-prepare you for your target level. On the actual exam, your performance will drop slightly, due to the stress, and it is more probable to hit your target score if you are over-prepared for it.

Once you have covered the material uniformly, without gaps, GMATPrep or GMATFocus can give reliable estimates of what your score could be. I'm a quant tutor and from my experience with my students the estimates in quant are really reliable, not so sure about the verbal.
